What this app is not. The scam checker and guidance offer help, not a guarantee. They cannot promise a message is safe. When money or personal information is involved, speak with a real person before you act. This app does not provide legal, financial, or medical advice.
Your information. We never ask for your passwords here, and our scam checker turns off any links and numbers so they cannot be tapped by accident. To understand what people need, we keep a record of what people ask us about, including the words you type, with no name attached. Your name or email is attached only when you choose to share it, or when you ask us to report something, and then only to help you. Before anything is stored, we automatically remove anything that looks like a password, PIN, or Social Security number. If you share a photo to check, we use it only to check it, and we do not keep it. We keep these records with our secure provider, count app visits only if you say yes, and you can ask us to delete your information any time by calling (855) 301-4220.

We were built to honor seven people. We call them The Hagerstown Seven, named for the place that made them and the place that made us. Tap any name to read their story.
Grandfather. A World War II Army veteran who spent the war diffusing land mines, then gave 35 years keeping Hagerstown's lights on as an engineer at the Municipal Electric Light Plant. He taught us that presence matters more than words.
Grandmother. Her fifteen-year journey with Alzheimer's taught our family what dignity truly means. She showed us that grace under pressure isn't performed, it's practiced.
Grandfather. A Chief Master Sergeant in the Air Force who oversaw aircraft maintenance at the 167th Airlift Wing, where lives depended on getting it right. His curiosity about the world never dimmed.
Grandmother. Born into a family of twelve on a Washington County dairy farm, she became one of the most beloved school cafeteria workers in the county's history. Her warmth could fill any room she entered.
Mother. Fifteen years as a fierce caregiver advocate. She taught us that what's right is right, and that you walk alongside people rather than ahead of them.
Father. He gave the roots, the foundation upon which everything else could be built.
Stepfather. He showed us that family is built through choice and commitment, not blood alone.
About Ryan
Ryan Miner founded Sentinel Silver. He grew up in Hagerstown, holds an MBA from Mount St. Mary's University, and spent roughly a decade in healthcare and senior services before building this.
He did not start a technology company. He started a promise. After watching his own grandparents, and his mother's fifteen years caring for them, he set out to give other families the patience and dignity his family knew.

This is the fear we hear most. It is why scam protection sits at the center of what we do. We watch their back, we teach them the warning signs, and if something slips through, we move fast. We also teach your parent one rule on day one: if anyone calls claiming to be us and asks for money or access, hang up and call our number to verify.
You love them, and you are also stretched thin. We become the patient person who picks up when the printer jams or the screen freezes, so the Sunday call can go back to being about your family instead of the Wi-Fi.

One rule sits above all of this: your parent is in charge. They decide what you see and what stays private. We always honor that.
You are welcome at every session
We encourage family to be present, not to supervise, but because your presence gives your parent confidence and gives you context. If your parent prefers privacy, we honor that completely. The invitation always stands.
A written recap after every session
After each visit we send a plain-English recap: what we worked on and why, what your parent accomplished, any concerns we noticed about security or scams, and what we recommend next. It goes to your parent and to any family member they designate. No extra charge. It is standard.
The Visit Manifest
Your parent keeps a record of every change we made to their device and everything they learned. You are welcome to a copy of every one. It is your record of exactly what happened in their home.
Being on the call or screen
With your parent's consent, we can bring you into a session by phone or video, so you see what we see. When we help remotely, your parent stays in control of their own screen the whole time. We only view a screen, record a session, or keep a transcript when the person has said yes first. Nothing happens behind their back, or yours.
